My wife and I decided to build a new home in Arizona as part of our California exit plan. We met with several contractors outlining our "must haves" and wishes, floor layouts and concepts, and our overall expectation of our builder. After bids were submitted it was clear only one contractor listened to us and more importantly "heard" what we said, John McKown. The final selection after an exhausting process was quite simple.
Building a home from the ground up comes with challenges. Requirements from the planning & permtting side, coupled with HOA architectual reviews, as well as "sub-contractors" and building inspectors interpretations are inevitable, but John dealt with everything in a timely and professional manner. Of course, we threw our own challenges into the mix, relocating walls and adding accents and finishes not previously discussed nor agreed upon. John made our requests a reality while also keeping our budget in check.
Finally, our home was designed and built with quality and efficiency in mind, while also meeting our family needs. We achieved all three ontime and on budget. Well, in reality, it was completed well before the contract identified, and somewhat higher in cost than originally outlined, but that was our doing. Mary and I commend John based on our experience and beleive he can make your family housing dreams come true.
